Item 5.02 Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers.

(b) On December 19, 2017, DineEquity, Inc., a Delaware corporation, announced the retirement of its Senior Vice President, Human Resources, John B. Jakubek. It is expected that Mr. Jakubek will continue in his role until the middle of the first quarter of 2018 to ensure a smooth transition.
